Porsche 911 Targa 4S | Heritage Design Edition |

Doesn’t this one look familiar to you? 🤔

Hmmm… It's on the tip of my tongue… It’s a classic in new, modern garment. I will give you a helping hand:

The Porsche 911 Targa 4S! Exactly!

It looks absolutely lovely! And reminds us of the roots of Porsche’s motorsport segment.

It’s a collector’s car and limited to 992 exemplars. Maybe the number 992 seems familiar as well… It’s the internal code of Porsche for their current 911 series.

If we take a closer look at the back of the 911 Targa 4S, we see a little easter egg, they planted into this cars ventilation grill:

Under this ventilation system, there you’ll find the 450 hp strong Bi-Turbo engine. The power is produced in the six cylinders (flat-six engine) with an alltogether engine displacement of 3 litres. It produces 530 Nm of torque, which is available from 2300 – 5000 rpm. But that doesn’t mean, that there is a big turbo lag from 0 – 2300 rpm. Because the predecessor to the new flat-six 3.0l engine of the 992 model series, was actually producing peak torque already from 1750 rpm. Not at all! Thanks to the two turbochargers, which are pumping air restlessly through the intercooler into the cylinders, you will not be able to notice anything like it. It just means, that the maximum torque of the full 530 Nm (incredibly much for a car, weighing in just about 1750 kg), you will experience between 2300 and 5000 rpm. Over all, the car has got more power, than it’s predecessor. And you can feel that!

For the sprint from 0-100 kph the car just needs 3.8 s. It manages to bring down the power really efficiently. The cars weight distribution is one of the key factors for it and with the so called Sport Chrono Package, you are even 0.2s faster! Nice!

The acceleration, pulling the 911 Targa 4S from 80 to 120 kph is also remarkable: It’s done in 2.4 s!

Another innovation is the following: The eight-speed twin-clutch gearbox is now programmed, to adapt it’s shift behavior, according to your GPS location. Driving uphill? The system will remark this and upshift later, as well as shift down earlier. On a long straight without giving the car the spurs? The 911 Targa 4S will disengage «sports mode» and shift up, to drive more efficiently and reduce wear. Sounds reasonable, but might be a bit annoying, if the driver doesn’t want these interventions…

But, where the car really unfolds his true character and feels at home, is definitely on the racetrack! And that is also, where the car belongs, with it’s temperament!

But let’s stop talking numbers (hope you haven’t fallen asleep yet 😂) and just enjoy a moment this „back to the future“ homage:

The Porsche Targa 4S Heritage Edition comes with the exclusive paintwork, called cherrymetallic and four further colours, as well as golden lettering.

It fits this car and definitely succeeds, making this car a homage to it’s relative.

But you may ask us now, which one we prefer? The old-timer or the sporty one?

The answer is easy: We really like both of them! Because the one can't give you, what the other does. And vice versa of course!

The one doesn't need to be fast, because he takes you back to a time, where you just hadn't to be fast! It was all about a nice, comfortable and refreshing ride along the landscape on a sunny day! Freedom if you will!

The other catapults you into the future! It's insanely fast and makes a whole bunch of fun!
